Ria Al-Ameen is an Associate at Giaimo Architects. She is a registered architect with the OAA and a member of the Canadian Association of Heritage Professionals (CAHP), where she serves on the Board of Directors. Throughout her career, Ria has contributed to a wide range of public and private sector projects, specializing in creative, context-sensitive solutions for existing and heritage buildings through adaptive reuse and thoughtful design interventions. She values collaboration and building strong connections within her team and the broader architecture and design community.
Always a frequent attendee, Ria began volunteering at the TSA at a wide variety of events including as a reviewer at the TSA’s inaugural Portfolio and Resume Clinic in 2024 and a speaker in our 2023 Ideas Forum: Deconstruction. In 2025, Ria joined the leadership team as an Initiative Lead for the TSA’s Career Development programming.

What the TSA offers to the architecture community and beyond is truly unique and invaluable. It fosters meaningful connections and provides support in an inclusive and impactful way. I am passionate about these initiatives and grateful for the opportunity to play a role in them.
